Sofia’s stories:
Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Miranda. She loved to write stories in notebooks and kept a large collection of all her stories in boxes stacked on top of each other in the attic. One day, she was sitting on her desk chair, writing her latest story, when her father burst in. “Listen up, Miranda,” he said. “Halloween is coming up and I bought you some clothes.” He held out a pile of scary clothes. “Try these on,”
Miranda got off her desk chair and peered over at the pile of clothes. “Cool,” she said, unenthusiastically. She proffered to be a vampire, not a gorilla. “Dad, why did you get me—” she paused. What she was going to say, was, why an earth have you bought me a horrible, stinky and ugly gorilla costume? But she didn’t. It would upset dad. Instead, she said, “—this amazing gorilla costume, I mean, what have I done to deserve this?”
Her dad smiled at her. “I’m thrilled that you like them.” he said. the following evening, Miranda went trick or treating with her elder brother, Maximilian, and her parents, who were dressed up as two yetis. Maximilian was dressed up as a vampire. Miranda must have been too busy writing stories to ask dad to get her that kind of costume. Maximilian looked so stylish and scary. Miranda looked hilarious.
When Miranda and Maximilian turned behind a corner, with mum and dad struggling to keep up with them, Maximilian whispered to Miranda, “You look hilarious! How are you wearing that out outfit?” his face was all red with laughter. Finally, Miranda said to him, “I’ve got a new story to write all ready! It can be all about how I wore a big gorilla costume for Halloween and scared everybody, who I trick or treated!”
